Christmas: A Tale of Two Worlds

Please Read Luke 2 Christmas is the time of the year that we recognize the birth of Christ. But do we really stop to ponder what that means? Do we ever truly meditate on the significance of this monumental event? The Eternal Lord of the universe became man! Clothed Himself in human vesture to dwell on earth amongst His people. His creation.  In Luke chapter 2, we see the reactions to the birth of Jesus in two places: the physical world and the spiritual realm.  In the spiritual realm, we see the choir of angels singing praises to their King, who was now wrapped in flesh and lying in a manger. In the physical world, we see the shepherds receiving the message from the angel and later encountering Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus. We see a devout man in Israel named Simon, rejoicing that he lived long enough to encounter the long-awaited Messiah. We see the shepherds praising God for witnes...

Upcoming Projects

Hello Friends! So I’ve recently been brainstorming more ideas for this blog. My goal is to assist you in your spiritual journey of glorifying Christ. Here’s what I came up with: 1.) I plan to have a Christmas Eve devotion posted this week. 2.) I happen to have a deep appreciation for Liturgies and ancient hymns and prayers. So I would love to share those with you all (and expound on them) as I come across them.  3.) As stated, I do enjoy reading ancient prayers, both in the Scriptures and by Saints who lived in the previous centuries. So I have been inspired to write my own prayers. This is a personal endeavor that I want to share with all of you. These prayers will be based off of my own Scripture readings and my personal thoughts, struggles, feelings, etc. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). I want to help and encourage those who may struggle with prayer. You’re not alone and God will listen if you come to Him humbly. 4.) I will continue to w...

The Book of Daniel Meditations: Chapter 4

What’s interesting about this chapter is that it’s narrated by King Nebuchadnezzar himself. This sudden change of narration highlights the importance of his personal account and how it ends. King Nebuchadnezzar actually begins his account by praising God, acknowledging His creation and sovereign authority. Nebuchadnezzar then begins to explain a troubling dream he’s been having, admitting that Daniel was the only one who can interpret the dream.  In the dream, there was this huge tree. It was strong and so tall, it reached the heavens. The tree could be seen from everywhere on earth . It was a beautiful tree that provided both fruit and shade to animals and people alike. Birds were able to make their homes there. The tree was a magnificent sight.  Then a heavenly being comes to saw the tree down, only leaving a stump. This being then declared that the stump is to be bound with an iron chain . But then the heavenly watcher begins to use a male pronoun to refer to th...
