The Book of Daniel Meditations: Chapter 2

King Nebuchadnezzar had been having some disturbing dreams (or nightmares). It got to  the point where he could barely sleep. The king is desperate to understand the meaning behind  these dreams, so he seeks out the magicians, sorcerers and Chaldeans to interpret these dreams . They are unable to and Nebuchadnezzar is furious. He wants to execute all the wise  men of Babylon to be executed. And this included Daniel and his companions. Daniel took a huge leap of faith and declared to the captain of the King’s guard Arioch that he ( Daniel) would reveal the interpretation of the dream to Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel trusted God and God granted him the interpretation of the dream. It was of an image of a statue that represented the 4 dominant kingdoms of the ancient world, Babylon being one of them. Then a  stone cut from a mountain (by God) destroys the image and grinds it to powder. The stone then grew into a great mountain which filled the earth, representing the Kingdom o...

The Book of Daniel Meditations: Chapter 1

Babylon, one of the wonders of the ancient world . Nebuchadnezzar’s, the king of Babylon, has just conquered Jerusalem. He not only defeated the king of Judah, Jehoiakim, but also took sacred items out of the Temple of God as war spoils. Nebuchadnezzar also took Jerusalem’s elite as captives and selected four young men to be trained in the ways and culture of Babylon in order to serve in his kingdom. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (the latter three later becoming known as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) were hand selected by the king for royal service. They were to be given a portion of the king’s food and drink. Being that these young men were Hebrew, the food more than likely went against their dietary requirements and was probably offered to idols. So they requ...

New Devotions

Hello Friends! As you can see, I have concluded my study of The Gospel of John. I sincerely hope it ministered to you and that you were blessed by it. Studying the Scriptures is how we get to know God. The purpose of this blog is to simply assist you in your journey to know and fellowship with The Lord.  Therefore, I am working on some devotions for the study of Daniel. I only have a few (around 2-3) chapters completed. Since this is an Old Testament book, my goal is to also show how these verses point us to Christ. After all, Jesus did say that the Scriptures testify of Him (John 5:39).  Please be patient, as I’m working and have a lot going on. I do ask that you keep me and my family in your prayers also. Be Blessed!
