What is The Gospel?

Happy Sunday Everyone!

What is the Gospel? The Gospel means good news. It is the message that Jesus Christ came to reconcile us to The Holy God in Heaven, through His sinless life, death and resurrection. It is the foundation of the Christian faith. Here is my summary of The Gospel. My prayer is that you think deeply about eternity and what it means to follow Christ.

God created everything. He created the earth, the heavens and all things that are living. Because God has all power, He is the Creator of all life. Most of all, God created you. He created all people. And He created us perfect. We were created to love Him, honor Him, worship Him and be His children.

But soon after God created the first Man and Woman, they sinned against God. They disobeyed and dishonored their Heavenly Creator. They were placed in a perfect world with perfect peace, harmony and communion with God. He was their Father and they shamed him with their disobedience. This is how sin entered the world. Sin is anything we say, do or think that displeases God. It is evil and it had made all of humanity unclean and defiled. The world was no longer perfect. Death came into the world and humans were banished from God's holy presence

Because of this, all people are now sinful and unclean. We are all covered with shame because we disobey God all the time. We are cursed with wickedness and wrath. However, God chose to establish a great nation to show the world how to worship and honor God in Heaven. In the Holy Book of the Torah, God created laws and rituals that would purify the people of this nation and make them clean. They had to offer animal sacrifices to appease the wrath of God for their sin and wickedness. But the people continued to disobey God. So God promised (through His messengers) to send a Savior who will save the people from their sins, deliver them from spiritual darkness and restore the people back to God.

So it was out of this great nation called Israel, that a unique and powerful Man would born. He would not be an ordinary Man. He was God born into the form of Man. His name was Jesus Christ. He lived a perfect life of honor and obedience to God the Father. He had the power to Heal sick people, forgive sins and make people clean. He had the authority to banish evil spirits.

He taught the great nation Israel to follow Him as the One True Way to God. Ultimately, Jesus came to restore people back to God. In order for God's wrath to be appeased and the curse of sin removed, the perfect sacrifice had to be offered. Jesus was that perfect sacrifice.

When He shed His blood on the Cross, He removed our guilt, covered our shame and freed us from the wrath of God and power of sin. Through His Sacrifice, we are clean and accepted by God. After he died, three days later Jesus had risen from the dead. He destroyed the power and fear of death. Through Him, we are able to become God's children and adopted into His family. God sees us as innocent because of Christ. We now must forsake our sins and disobedient ways that defile us and trust in Jesus Christ alone, who is Lord of all creation and Has all power.

No matter what you've done, Jesus wants to save you and set you free from darkness. He wants to take your shame and give you the honor of being His child for eternity. We must run to Him. We must seek to follow Him and by His Holy Spirit, we can live honorable lives before our Heavenly Father.

Holy Monday

First, Jesus drives the money changers and merchants out of the temple, refusing to let this sacred place of worship be exploited for financial gain. Later, Jesus curses a Fig tree for its refusal to bear fruit.  *Please read and meditate on these Scripture Passages*                                                         Prayer Sovereign Lord,  Grant me a clean heart. Remove sins and even wrongful attitudes and motives. Let me worship You out of a pure heart and drive out any darkness that clouds my soul an...

Holy Wednesday

Scripture Reference: Luke 22:1-6 Summary: As the Passover Feast approaches, the chief priests and scribes begin conspiring to kill Jesus. They discover they have an ally, Judas Iscariot, who agrees to betray Jesus for a price.                        Prayer Holy Savior, Many times we criticize Judas for betraying You. But how often have we betrayed Your Holy Majesty through our sins? Through our irreverence and sacrilege?  Lord, forgive us! Make us clean! Remove idolatry from our hearts and Give us hearts with total and committed loyalty to You. Let us not be entangled with the things of this world, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Renew a right spirit within us and help us to abide in You. Amen

Holy Week Update

Hello Everyone! Holy Week starts tomorrow and I just wanted to give you some updates. I am still planning on working on the Daniel devotions. I haven’t forgotten about them. I’ve been busy with work, church and just being exhausted.  As for Holy Week, I decided to do something different. Instead of writing my insights on Holy Week Scriptures (like I did last year), I decided to write prayers for each day. The Bible command us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Also, it is impossible to have a devotional life without prayer. I will post the Sculpture references and encourage reading them as well as praying. Also feel free to look back at the Holy Week devotionals from last year.  May God bless you as you pursue Him!
